What is landscape design? Landscape design allows you to see what your final project will look like in a full color photo. The landscape design process begins with Paul visiting your home or project site and discussing your design preferences and maintenance needs. He can then recommend plants that are suited to your unique area. For example, is your area very shady or full sun? Do you have problems with deer nibbling your bushes? These are important elements to consider in planning your landscape design.
Do I need a design for my project and is there a cost to landscape design? While traditional estimates are always free, landscape design is a time intensive service. If your project does not require a design but is merely a simple planting job such as a simple hedge or you already know exactly what you want planted and where, we can provide a free estimate with no design photo created. However, if you would like to visualize what your shrub or flower bed will look like ahead of time, and want us to design this for you with your preferences and unique area in mind, this will require a design. Most landscape designs are $100. That fee is also applied to your job if you decide to proceed with the project. Essentially, if you hire us to do your installation, the design is free!
How can I prepare for the site visit? Prior to meeting with Paul, it is a good idea to think about your goals for your project and share those during the visit. If there are certain plants you definitely do or do not want included, please let us know and we will plan the design accordingly. Also, consider the amount of time you have to care for the plantings and your desired maintenance level.
What happens next? After the visit, Paul will create a custom design and send it to you via email. You can then review the design. Included in the design fee is one revision, so you can request changes to the design. Once this is complete, and you are ready to move forward with us doing the work, Paul will send you the contract to sign, and you will be added to the schedule. You can then look forward to a beautiful addition to your property!
What if I change my mind even after one revision? Should you wish to request one additional revision to the design, this can easily be done for an additional $50. We look forward to helping you achieve your goals for your project.
